As a little girl, my dad would tell me stories about his life, how he grew up in a monastery. He shared with me the deep mysteries of faith, history and the power of prayer. He also told me about his mother, who died long before I was born. She was the village medicine woman, a shamanic healer. These stories fascinated me and laid the groundwork for who I became in life.
